PLASTICITY, DAMAGE & FRACTURE (PDF) 2018, will take place at InterContinental San Juan, PR, USA, January 3-9, 2018. This Conference series is the prime forum for plasticity, damage and fracture research dissemination as usually 300-400 scientists from around the world participate in this conference, including many IJP authors and reviewers.
The conference will focus on multi-scale computational PDF, PDF of emerging materials (nano-crystalline solids, thin films, biomaterials, polymers etc.) and micro mechanics of plastic deformation and texture evolution, including materials science aspects, metal forming, and elastic-plastic damage and fracture mechanics. However, presentations in any area of plasticity, damage & fracture will be welcomed, especially experimental and materials science studies related to plastic deformation, damage and fracture. Thus topics of interest include but not limited to, plastic and visco-plastic behaviors of single crystals and polycrystalline metals, nano-crystalline metals, thin films, biomaterials, ceramics, ice, rocks and soils, composite materials and polymers, as well as plasticity aspects of damage, failure and fracture mechanics. Conference presentations must be original unpublished research related to experimental, numerical or theoretical analyses of the inelastic behavior of solids subjected to quasi-static, dynamic or cyclic thermo-mechanical loading.
A one-page abstract and your presentation at the conference are for quick dissemination of your research. The optional full-length papers are published in the International Journal of Plasticity after the standard peer review process and acceptance, for archival reference. The journal has the highest impact factor among all solid mechanics and material science journals for past several years. Please see the journal detailsat:
The full-length papers should be submitted for publication consideration anytime from six months before to six months after the symposium. We expect this conference to be as outstanding, both technically and socially, as its predecessors,
including the one in Whistler (July 2000), Aruba (Jan. 2002), Quebec City (July 2003), Kauai (January 2005), Halifax (July 2006) Alyeska Resort south of Anchorage (June 2007), Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort (January, 2008), St. Thomas Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort (January 2009), St. Kitts Marriott Resort (January 2010), Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa (January 2011), Rio Mar Beach Resort in San Juan (January 2012), Nassau Sheraton (January 2013), Grand Lucayan Resort at Freeport (January 2014), Rose Hall Hilton in Montego Bay, Jamaica (January 2015), Sheraton Kona, Hawaii (January 2016), and Marriott Puerto Vallarta in Mexico (2017).
THE LOCATION AND HOTEL
InterContinental San Juan, PR, USA, is an oceanfront property with its private beach. There are numerous direct and connecting flights to San Juan, USA, from major US, Canadian and European cities.
Participants from Asia may connect via Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Dallas, London, Frankfurt, Paris and Washington, to San Juan. The temperature is expected to be 80-85 F.
Please see more details of the hotel on the following websites and more pictures of the resort in the drop box link below:
We have negotiated a very special rate of 159, 169 & 179 US$ per night (plus taxes), for resort view, deluxe pool & deluxe ocean view respectively; we have also negotiated a 10% discount in all of their restaurants and a reduced price for breakfast.
The regular rate for this resort is more than 200% of the conf. rate. A few rooms are available at this rate. Some rooms are available on Jan. 1, but most rooms are in the conf. block from Jan. 2 to Jan. 11.
PRESENTATIONS AND REGISTRATION FEE
The presentations will include key-note invited lectures and invited presentations in each of four parallel sessions. The invited key-note lecture of 30 minutes duration is expected to give an overview of the subject with almost 15 minutes being devoted to the results of other researchers. Invited presentations will be allotted 15 minutes. All presentations, including invited lectures, must contain a significant amount of unpublished results. A session of two hours will normally include two lectures and four invited talks. Computer projectors will be available for your presentation.
Meanwhile, please refer to the registration form for past two conferences online for registration fees which will remain same.
Kindly follow the deadlines given at the top.
